Miss Fry teaches Communication Arts classes at Slater Junior High. She is also the 7th Grade class sponsor and SST Supervisor.
Miss Fry comes to Slater from Warrensburg, MO. However, she is no stranger to small town life, as she was born and raised in Marceline, MO. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and communication at Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, MO, and earned her teacher certification at University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, MO. Her teaching experiences include tutoring a wide diversity of students, two concurrent internships within one semester at UCM, and substitute teaching at school districts within a four-county area. One of her most memorable experiences was tutoring a young woman who successfully applied to nursing school and was accepted. Miss Fry also brings “real world” experiences to the classroom from career fields such as public relations, the publishing and newspaper industries, and library services.
Miss Fry, an avid scrapbooker, also enjoys writing prose, poetry, and short stories. She spends time reading, journaling, cooking, and traveling. Some of her favorite places to visit have included San Antonio, New York City, and southern Missouri. She also attends theatre productions and enjoys listening to music.
Motto—“Nothing good or worthwhile in life ever comes easy. You must decide you want something badly enough to do whatever it takes to succeed. To realize your dreams, you must be willing to set and reset goals.”
