

College Preparatory Certificate
The Missouri State Board of Education awards the College Preparatory Studies Certificate (CPSC) to Missouri students who successfully complete a rigorous academic program in high school. The certificate is awarded in addition to the regular college diploma granted by local school boards.
To be eligible for the certificate, a student must meet to following requirements:
24 Credits including
4 Language Arts (2 units emphasizing writing skills)
3 Mathematics (Algebra and above)
3 Social Studies (including American History and Government)
2 Science (Biology and above, one must be a lab class)
1 Fine Art
1 Practical Art
1 Physical Education
3 Specified Core Electives
6 General Electives
Earn at least a 3.0 GPA in the combined subject areas including Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Score above the previous year's National Composite Average on the ACT (21) or SAT.
College Prep will accept Applied Math II if a student has had Algebra I and Algebra II.
College Preparatory Certificate will be changed to meet new requirements for class of 2010.
